Mistake Monday

Jeggings
Question: Are they jeans or are they leggings?
Answer: If you have to question them, don't wear them.

Leggings I'm still on the fence about. Some styles I like others, I wonder if you have a mental problem... But I'm all for the skinny jeans look. They are flattering and I love to show off my curves with a great pair of skinny jeans. But if the society of fashion is getting so lazy that they have to make leggings look like jeans... come on people!

Enough said! Thanks Coco

February Favorite 15

Today I had the opportunity to attend the baby shower of my dear friend, Lesley. Lesley is having her first baby in May, she is having a little girl. Since I am a Mom of boys only- I kinda had a hard time trying to decide what I should buy for Baby Girl. Needless to say I succeeded in my decision.

Lesley's sister Ryan- just so happens to be my sister in law; hosted this destination baby shower in Georgia- both sisters grew up here, (but moved in the last several years to opposite sides of the country). I had fun Catching up with friends, eating delicious food. The shower was lots of fun. The decorations and table arrangements were beautiful, and then to top it off- all the guests were given a party gift bag. This included lots of yummy chocolates, Victoria's Secret PINK body lotion, and my new Favorite body mist from Victoria's Secret.

Pretty In Pleats

Pleats are coming in strong this year! This fun and flirty fashion is great for any woman and any body type! Pleats add that extra spark in an outfit. They help bring in some curves and with the right color choice, can make you fill like a sexy lady!! (Which we all love feeling like!) It's an easy trend to choose and very easy to wear. And I promise that you will look fabulous! Pleats can be dressed up or even be worn casually.
So when you are out shopping next, be sure to pick up some pretty pleats! You won't be disappointed!

Am I getting taller?

Or are the skirts getting shorter?

I usually can find something in a store I like. But lately, when I'm trying to find a nice, pretty, church approved skirt.... There aren't any to be found! And if I find one I do like, it's usually 3 times what I was wanting to spend or it's not my size.

I don't know why I don't just keep the ones I wore 8 years ago in high school because the fashion industry is repeating! Why can't people find a new style instead of repeating? And not only 80's clothing styles are "back" but I'm starting to see A LOT of 90's styles coming back too. Chunky shoes. Shirts that I refer to as the Chandler shirt. (Target won't let me save a copy so click here to see it.)

All I'm saying is, it would be nice to have options when I go shopping. I feel like every store is the same. Mini, flowery, teeny bop, short skirts. I have to say a pet peeve of mine is when ladies (not young girls, ladies) wear these tiny, little, mini skirts to church and wear leggings under them. This is so tacky and even though you are trying to look fashionable... It's church! Enough said.

Where shoes go to die....

Being a woman we all tend to love one certain fashion trend the most. Whether it's hats, purses, or jewelry we all have one favorite above the rest. For me, my love is for shoes. The heel, the color, the straps, it makes my day to get a new pair of shoes! But then sadly, there are some shoes that will never be worn unless the person has lost their eyesight prior to buying these shoes. Because anyone with sight would never ever (well I hope never ever) purchase such sad shoes.
For some example-
Nine West Divara- $128.95
(Nothing Diva about these...)

Spring Step Azalea- $63.99
(Someone is taking the term "take a walk in nature" a little too serious)

Diba Babs- $73.50
(The fabric would make a good pillow or drapes in a haunted mansion)

Promiscuous Trey- $69.00
(I bet the name came from all the hookers that buy these)

J. Renee Brinda0 $98.95
(If the Little Mermaid was a shoe....)

Poetic Licence Racy Lady- $128.95
(I think it says it all in the name. Only a poetic licence racy lady would wear these.....)

Aldo Osterberger- $120.00
(Sir yes sir ma'am?)

And now my favorite shoe dis-

Birki's Woodby- $93
(Moooooo?)
Just because a pair of shoes has a top brand name, doesn't make them top trends. As I like to say, be careful what you shop for.

All shoes were found on Zappos.com Great place for stylish shoes but sometimes they get it wrong...

Foot Undies? Really?? So NOT on my Christmas list

What is the fashion world coming to? Foot undies?!!
This is a definite fashion no no.
What is the purpose of these?

What's next for fashion? A tiny pad for your foots period?

I wonder if they come in a thong style. Or granny pantie style....

Funny Moment in time

I did this photo last summer but I just came across it again and kept laughing. A friend once said "If you can't laugh at yourself then I'll do it for you". I don't think I've ever had trouble laughing at myself. I tend to laugh at a lot of things. The more you learn about the world, the more opportunities there are to laugh it. And I think laughter is the best medicine.

The world really is filled with dirty idiots...

Now that tax season is over, today at work things were very slow. I was bored and started surfing sites that I knew I could never afford. Actually, to let you in on a secret of mine, sometimes I like looking at these "top designers", I make a mental note and then go to my cheap stores like Urban Wear and Forever21 and create a better cheaper look without breaking my wallet. Sorry Carrie Bradshaw, life isn't always about which designer I should be wearing.

So I was looking at Barney's New York website. I couldn't believe what I saw. Were my eyes playing tricks on me or has Mugatu (Fashion Designer on the awesome movie Zoolander) finally released Derelict? Magatu described it as "Let me show you the future of fashion. Let me show you Derelict. It is a fashion, a way of life inspired by the very homeless, the vagrants, the crack whores that make this wonderful city so unique."

Well readers..... here it is.
These "beauty's" will only cost you $560 and they save you time trying to "break them in" because they are already dirty. The things people make and what's the most ridiculous part is, these young kids eat this crap up and buy it. They convince the world that this is worth your money. I bet it only cost less than $10 to make a pair of these shoes, including the dirt that comes with it.

The Lollipop Fairy...

She is real and yesterday she came to our rescue. Yesterday my sister and I went shopping with our children. You can only image how the little tots felt after being pulled from one store to another and being locked into the grocery carts. As we were strolling in Target and our children were whining the sweet Lollipop Fairy came to our rescue. By first glance you may not know it's her. She looks like any grandmother out there with a huge smile and warm greeting. But don't be fooled she has a purse filled with lollipops to calm your little ones. It worked and I must say thank you!!

Speaking of Lollipops. I was watching TV last night and heard about one of the most ridiculous things ever....
These lame lollipops are called Couture Lollipops. All the stars are eating them or just holding them. They coast $25. Have they LOST their minds? I would never spend that on a stupid piece of candy. I have a hard time spending that on clothes for myself. Would you buy one for yourself to try? If they are that good maybe the Lollipop Fairy needs to upgrade!

Adopt a 'Do- Cute Girls Hairstyles

As you all know I only have one little boy at the moment. However I find myself drooling over this site called Adopt a 'Do - Cute Girls Hairstyles. I love how crafty the mother is when it comes to doing her girls hair.
They are always fun and beautiful. She says she does them in 15 minutes or less!! How incredibly awesome is that? Looking for a way to make your little girl shine? Check out her site. On really hard ones she will even post a video clip for you to see it. I just adore this one. I did it on my own hair the other day and loved it. It was simple and easy for me to do. I think you should take a look, even if you don't have girls you may find your next up do there!

Maybe I haven't been completely honest...

Halloween is held up on a pedestal in our house. It's really the only time of year my husband asks "so when are the decorations coming out?" Also you must know I hear this not in October but in September! He just loves it. We have already started fighting over what little man will be this year. I love this outfit from Small Threads. You should go over and check it out!

Bra show

We all need some extra support. Whether it's for lifting, needing to feel sexy or keeping the girls in place, bras can be a girls best friend. But showing your bra in public like this, isn't sexy.
When trying outfits on make sure they fit not only your body correctly, but that your bra isn't showing. Even with dresses you need to do the clothing check when buying your clothes. I tend to sit down, bend, squat, etc. Just so I can make sure I'm not hanging out or showing any panties or bras. Ladies I insist in clothing checks!!! There's no quicker way for a chic sexy outfit to turn trashy when showing your bra.

Braid baby

Braids are back, but for me and my sister, they never left. Stylist have come up with many different ideas to wear braids in your hair. Some are adorable and unique but others.... not so much.
This girl is very cute but unless she's from the 60's and the days of the flower power, this look doesn't work well in my book for 2009.

This is a mess. Enough said.

I love these next few looks. Braids give these elegant up-do's a creative twist.

I'm in love with Jessica Alba's up-do! And this style would not be hard to accomplish. Do a french braid on both sides and maybe even make it a messy bun at the bottom.

I've always been a fan of the single braid in the back. I love the fishtail look for braids, I only wish I knew how to do it!

And then there's the classic braid at the hairline. You can wear this look for any occasion. Dress it up or dress it down. It's a fun flirty hair style.

Shoe Worthy

Gladiator footwear can be thrilling. They can make an evening outfit set for the town look dazzling. But when your foot looks like it belongs in Caesars Palace, you should change your shoes!!

I mean ladies, seriously? This is not fashion forward.

This shoe actually makes me laugh. I think when creating this shoe, they decided to add all the extra fabric around the ankle so the shoe would stay on your foot, because that little cork between your toes seems like it would just be annoying.

This one is Caesar the Alien vs Fashion. I'm pretty certain the Aliens won.

I never knew you could buy your socks attached to the shoe. Wow, these fashion designers are smart! Forget bringing a blanket to the movies to keep my feet warm, I've got my sock in a shoe!

On a more serious note. What we put on our feet says a lot about us. We don't have to break our wallet to look good anymore. The next couple of shoes you will see I found on http://www.payless.com/ These shoes are cute and trendy and will look great on everyone! We can all have style at great prices.

All of the fashion NO shoes were found at incredibly ridiculous prices online at http://www.zappos.com/ I will agree that Zappos is a great shoe site. I have shopped there often. I don't always understand why people pay hundreds of dollars on shoes that cost only a few bucks to make. Buy shoes because they look great on you and they are worth it. Don't buy shoes because it's what the latest magazine says is in style.
