Mentor Mom

I was reading a blog called Rookie Moms (check it out!) I came across a post that said you should find you a mentor mom. They said “the most experienced mom is the one who is six to eight months ahead of you in parenthood; any bigger gap than that and they’ve forgotten what you’re going through.”
They go on to say how that mother has all the best advice for what your going through because she was just there. She has done all the research that you are about to do to solve all your problems. She is understanding because she remembers far to well the late nights or teething pains you are going through. I loved this idea and then when I thought about when Little Man was a baby I realized that I had a mentor mom and didn't even know it. I was living far away from my family in a new state and she was the only mother I felt comfortable being around because she never made me feel bad when my son wouldn't stop crying. She gave me great ideas to help me get through the day.(prepare dinner during naps so you don't have to during the dreaded witching hour, and the moby wrap...) Best of all she knew that it was never too early to eat chocolate. So thanks Hannah you were totally my mentor mom for Little Man and I wish we still lived close enough so you could be my mentor mom for Baby Man.

These children are in dire situations because they are victims of domestic abuse, natural disasters, homelessness, serious illness, or their parents are incarcerated. K.I.D.S. also serves military families who are suffering financial hardship while a loved one is deployed.

As you all know I only have one little boy at the moment. However I find myself drooling over this site called Adopt a 'Do - Cute Girls Hairstyles. I love how crafty the mother is when it comes to doing her girls hair.

They are always fun and beautiful. She says she does them in 15 minutes or less!! How incredibly awesome is that? Looking for a way to make your little girl shine? Check out her site. On really hard ones she will even post a video clip for you to see it. I just adore this one. I did it on my own hair the other day and loved it. It was simple and easy for me to do. Nie Nie

I don't know if you read Nie Nie. I have read her a few times. My sister in law told me she would be on Oprah today. I just finished watching and it is just amazing. She is such an wonderful woman. I don't know if I could be as strong of a woman, wife and mother that she is. For those who do not know, a year ago she and her husband were in a small plane crash her body was 80% burned. Even though her life is much harder than it ever was before, she is a great example to all mothers everywhere. You will want to make sure every little moment you spend with your child is beautiful after you look over her site. Yesterday I was holding Little Man when he fell asleep and I was thinking am I really being the kind of mother he deserves? I decided to be a little better today than I was yesterday. I have had a great day so far, I don't have to be perfect all the time but I can try to do better. So I want to encourage all of you to read Nie Nie and see the Oprah show. Bring a tissue if you are going to watch it.

Halloween again.

Today I found the perfect outfit for Little Man to wear for Halloween. When I saw it I knew it was made for him to wear. Did I call my husband to make sure it was what he wanted? No. I bought it and decided to come home and put it on him because I knew he would just love it as much as me. Come on what little boy doesn't want to be a cute little owl for Halloween? Lucky me I only paid 6 bucks for it.

Guess I was wrong. As I normally am when it comes to Little Man. You would think after 14 months with this kid I would know him better than I do. He cried the entire time he was in it. I don't think it's going to work. I may have to go back to plan A. I found it on this wonderful blog called Lumpyhead.

I almost died when I saw this. hahahaha it really cracks me up and I just might have to do it now. He will not wear the hat but I think it could still work. What do you think? Also please let me know what your little one will be this year.
