My Bestie from Just For Me...And You has joined forces with Kolcraft and an organization they have partnered up with, K.I.D.S (Kids in Distressed Situations), on a Sesame Street Silent Auction. There will be several great products featured and auctioned off. Please take a look and place some bids to help this amazing charity!!
The Silent Auction will begin Monday, June 14th. Please copy/paste the Sesame Street Silent Auction event button on your blog to help spread the word.
100% of proceeds will go to the K.I.D.S organization.

Here is a little more information about K.I.D.S:
Kolcraft has partnered with K.I.D.S. (Kids In Distressed Situations); an organization that brings hope and self-esteem to children in need and their families by providing needed products such as crib mattresses, bassinets, strollers and more.

Since 1985 K.I.D.S. has reached out to more than 64 million children in need by distributing more than a half billion dollars worth of new merchandise. These children are in dire situations because they are victims of domestic abuse, natural disasters, homelessness, serious illness, or their parents are incarcerated. K.I.D.S. also serves military families who are suffering financial hardship while a loved one is deployed.

She started today with a baby walker.....go over and check it out!!

A Baby Shower

My friend Kristin and I were throwing a baby shower for a friend this past Friday night. When we came across these adorable cupcakes from Martha Stewart we knew we had our theme for the baby shower. I had never heard of it before but it's called a Nesting Baby shower for the nesting mother. Kristin is the queen when it comes to bake goods and look how fabulous hers turned out!!
Next I started to think about decorations that went all around birds, nest and blue and yellow because our friend is having a baby boy. I made a water bath for these cute little chicks with blue M&M's. (Easter Candy helped me a lot! I found all kinds of great egg candy that matched my color palette)I couldn't have a nesting theme without some beautiful eggs. I decided to use chic white table clothes so your attention was placed where I wanted it to go. Add a sweet birdhouse and some more chicks and I think we have some awesome decorations. I wanted to use lemonade because it is yellow and summer time and you just have to drink lemonade in the summer time. Last and the most important shout out to Kristin for the amazing food!! Seriously I wish she would make my dinner every night.

Tips for Dr visits.

Whenever LM and I show up to the doctors office. They all know it. As soon as LM's name is called and we walk through the door to the weigh in station he completely loses his mind. From that moment on he screams like a wild child. I have found a solution to helping your toddler cope with going to the doctor. At least it worked well for me. First we bought a doctor kit. We practice what the doctor would do to him and we even practiced saying "Hi Doctor!" We even brought his new toys to our appointment and he did so well. My second trick up my sleeve for the visit was a box of crayons. I sat him on top of that white paper while we waited for our Dr. and he colored up a storm. Even my doctor was impressed because he had never seen my son so happy. He is normally a crazed out of control child.
I will not have to dread my next visit to the doctor and maybe you won't too.

Easy as ABC

I have been searching the web for some fun things to do for and with my son for our ''school time" together and found this idea from a website called Rookie Moms. If you use a turkey baster you can make the alphabet and numbers for your child. Even make their names for them to learn and eat. I cannot wait to tr this at home. I just have to buy a turkey baster. Happy Tuesday to you all.

Back to sleep campaign...to do or not to do.

I am sure if you are a newer mom like me. Then you were told to use the back to sleep campaign.

The Back to Sleep campaign is suitably named for its recommendation to place healthy babies on their backs to sleep. Placing babies on their backs to sleep reduces the risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS), also known as "crib death." This campaign has been successful in promoting infant back sleeping to parents, family members, child care providers, health professionals, and all other caregivers of infants.
I did use it for Little Man and he got a flat head. No lie. The poor little babe had such a flat head that I started to get a bit worried. I talked to my doctor and only felt comfort because she told me she had seen worse heads. So at least my kid wasn't the worst in the bunch!! Go LM! Well after doing some research I found a nice little pillow for him to lay on. Boppy makes them and so does Pottery Barn. The pillow has a hole in it for your child's head to rest in. This helps keep the great roundness any mom wants for her baby.
After using the pillow for LM I could see a huge improvement of his noggin. Although today my sister told me his head looked funny. That's what made me come home and blog this for any of yo who need help for your babies head or you are planning on using the Back to sleep campaign, you should get one.

This Mama Rocks....and she does.

My good friend and fellow blogger buddy This Mama Rocks is hosting a Silent auction for the families in Haiti. Here is a bit from her website.....
I couldn’t sleep last night because I was thinking about the families that have lost so much in the earthquake in Haiti. I wanted to do something to help! I have decided to put together a silent auction on my blog for the families in Haiti that have lost and for you to be able to help donate and also win a fabulous product through this great cause. .

I love that she is doing this. What a wonderful gift to give to those in Haiti when you thought you had nothing to give. Go over and read about on her site and get ready to act!
