Review & Giveaway: Tidy Books Childrens Bookcase.

So my last review was for a children's book and today it will be for a children's bookcase. Reading to your children can be one of the most rewarding things you do as a parent. I have been looking for the most practical and fun bookcase for children. I know that I have found it and put a end to my quest. I found Tidy Books. This wonderful site that sells the best bookcase I have ever seen.
The bookcase was invented by a mother named Geraldine. She says:
"Traditional bookcases (decorated or not) for children simply made no sense to me. Adele's books, like most children's books were outsize, differently shaped and hard to keep tidy. As you know, children don't choose books from the spine but from the cover, and when a child takes a book from a traditional bookcase, the rest collapse. "

Once I received it in the mail I did have to build it. I decided to do it myself and was surprised at how easy it was to build. This is when I discovered how much Little Man loved the Alphabet letters on the wood. He would point to them and say the ones he knows. I then realized that not only were the letters absolutely adorable they were practical and I could use them as a teaching tool. It took me 30 minuets from start to finish to build and mount the bookcase to my wall. I loved that it was mounted because I knew it would be safer for children to play around.
I didn't notice from the website just how thin the bookcase was going to be. This is such a positive because it is not bulky and does not take up so much valuable floor space that my son needs and loves.
Do not let the size of the bookcase fool you either. It can hold 85 books in various shapes and sizes. I do not own 85 books so it looks like I have more to go before it is at it's max.

Little Man loves to go in his room and take the books off the bookcase and put them back on because it is easy for him to do. Before he would get frustrated with traditional bookcases and we used a basket for his books to make it easy for him to access them. Although a basket was easy for him it was hard on the book. The bookcase helps maintain the life of your book because they are not being thrown or shoved into nooks they should not be.

I learned that "The Tidy Books story began when I was looking for a bookcase for my young daughter Adele, and I found I just couldn't buy the bookcase I had in mind. I wanted a practical, compact bookcase that would be easy for her to use independently, and that would show the books' front covers" amypugmire@live.com

I would buy the natural with letters. This is exactly what I have been looking for! My kids don't read their books if they are in a basket or box, and I'm using a kids book rack with fabric sections and it looks like it's better suited for magazines than books.
